Beauty Empties, Vol 1.

We are well into the dog days of summer and as such, I’m determining what products I want to replenish one more time before I transitioning to fall skincare (why is this summer going by so fast!). Here’s the latest assortment of empties that I’ve accumulated over the past several months and my thoughts on if I would re-purchase them or not.

Shea Moisture Perfecting Face Cream Trio - Conceal, Contour, Highlight - Shade: Dark

I rarely use contour in my everyday make-up, but I do like this product if I’m doing more make-up for a special occasions or instances where I’ll be photographed. Would I re-purchase? Technically, no because this seems to have been dis-continued, but the Honest Beauty Contour + Highlight Palette is a decent dupe.

Dr. Bronner’s Organic Hand & Body Lavender Coconut Lotion

I typically stick to body oils and butters over lotion, but used this primarily as a hand lotion. I do like it as a hand lotion but it’s not quite emollient enough for me to use as a body lotion. I’ll stick to my butters and oils. Would I re-purchase? Yes.

Everyday Oil - Mainstay Blend

I love this oil and every time I switch off to another oil I come back to it. It’s particularly good for travel because it can be multi-use (oil cleanser, make-up remover, moisturizer) Would I re-purchase? Yes.

The Inkey List Glycolic Acid Toner

I am slowly dipping my toe into acids. This glycolic acid but honestly prefer Pixi Glow Tonic for regular use. I remain loyal to Pixi Glow Tonic for an affordable option but am curious about Paula’s Choice. Open to a cleaner option as well! Would I re-purchase? Probably not.

Kreyol Essence Mango Papaya & Coconut Rum Punch Haitian Hand & Body Cream

This body cream smells lovely and is very moisturizing. I also love the idea of supporting a brand that gives back to Haiti. Would I re-purchase? Definitely.

Mane and Choice Tropical Moringa Daily Restorative Spray

I do like this spray, but think I prefer the Jane Carter Solution for the time being. I like to have a few leave-in sprays in rotation particularly during the summer months. Would I re-purchase? Probably, but it’s not at the top of my list.

Dr. Bronner’s Pure Castille Liquid Soap - Rose

Dr. Bronner’s liquid soap is a mainstay in my routine. I use it on the regular and of course it tends to be a multi-use product when I travel. Would I re-purchase? Definitely.

Patchology Flash Patch Eye Revive

I was curious about eye patches since I do like some sheet masks. I thought they could give a little more moisture and luster to my undereyes. But I found that the patches tended to slide down my face .Would I re-purchase? Probably.

Nemat Egyptian Musk Oil

I purchased this months ago on a whim from Whole Foods. I let it sit for a while before finally using it and ended up really liking it. It has staying power but isn’t too strong. Would I re-purchase? Yes.

Pacifica Perfume - Sandalwood

Sadly, the scent didn’t last very long. Would I re-purchase? Probably not. There are other fragrance options with sandalwood that have more staying power.
