April + May 2019 Favorites
Here are some products, books and other items I enjoyed using during the months of April and May.
Hilton Carter’s Instagram
Really inspired by the plant centric IG and new book of Hilton Carter. I also now want to purchase a bunch of planters and plants for my living room.
Healthier Together by Liz Moody
I have been trying to eat more plants and try new recipes, so I did enjoy reading and trying a few recipes from this cookbook. I’ve bookmarked others I hope to try soon! My favorites so far are: Pasta Bolognese (lentil version) and Strawberry Chia Seed Jam.
Travelon Anti-theft Signature Slim Backpack
I wanted a small backpack for summer travel and landed on one with some anti-theft features that wasn’t too large. I carried this on my recent vacation to Portugal and it was the perfect size to carry everything you’ll need for a day of exploring a city.
Prive Revaux Maestro Blue Light Blocker Glasses (Clear)
We all know by now that devices we use on the daily like our phones, computers and tablets give off blue light that is damaging to our eyes and sleep cycles. But doing something about it is another thing. One thing I’ve been trying to do more regularly is wear Blue Light Blocker Glasses. There are numerous variations out now, but these are the pair I’ve been wearing on the regular.
Spirulina Supplement
I recently finished up the Aala Cleanse and since that’s a pretty plant based regime, I have been taking this supplement to make up for not eating meat. The only gripe I have is that I have to remember to take six a day, but otherwise, it’s not so bad. I’m also still doing DIY Spirulina + Honey Facemasks.
Nettle Leaf Tea
For the past several weeks, I’ve been drinking daily Nettle Tea Infusions (which means I steep loose Nettle Tea in hot water and let it infuse for 4 or more hours before drinking). I’m slowly seeing a positive difference in the thickness of my hair as a result. It’s literally so minor, no one else but me would notice, but we’ll see if I see more hair growth as I continue drinking it.
Purely Elizabeth Granola (Blueberry Hemp or Original)
This granola has become my breakfast of choice most mornings. Tastes great over oat milk or mixed into dairy free yogurt and topped with fruit.
Oyin Handmade Juices & Berries Nourishing Herbal Leave-In Tonic
This leave-in is a perennial favorite that I use all of the time and really ought to start purchasing in bulk. Though I rotate leave-in conditioners (my second one in rotation is The Mane Choice Tropical Moringa Sweet Oil & Honey Endless Moisture Restorative Spray), Juices & Berries is always on deck. My 4B and 4C hair functions best when I refresh it daily with a leave-in spray.
