Shopping clean and nontoxic beauty + skincare options has become much more approachable in the DC area over the past few years. I realize that this is not true for many other parts of the country, so that is why stores that have online offerings available for non-local beauty shoppers is also key. A week ago while killing time before meeting a friend for drinks, I stumbled into Ivy Wild Beauty. A cute clean beauty + skincare store in Northwest, DC in the Manhattan Laundry Alley is close proximity to a few neighboring restaurants and businesses. The store was founded by Rachel Mulcahy opened in 2018. Ivy Wild is performance focused in the products they choose to offer to customers while also remaining mindful of ingredients that have been shown scientifically to be toxic.

Ivy Wild has an assortment of brands you’ll be familiar with if you’re into clean beauty (like Vapour Organic Beauty, Alima Pure, Ilia, etc.) and others that may not yet be on your radar. Since the the FDA in the U.S. has not really done any meaningful revisit to the regulations in decades, it’s more important than ever to take a closer look at your skincare and make-up products. Stores like Ivy Wild make that easier to do with via their online shop or by stopping by the store for those in the DC area.
