The Return of the House Dress
I have many fond memories of my paternal grandmother. She was a great home cook + baker, very talented at drawing/painting, and a lover of travel with my grandfather. She also had an array of colorful house dresses that she wore around the house on a daily basis. I find that I’m so tired of wearing my rotation of yoga leggings while living and working from home since last year that I’m ready to leave my leggings in my dresser drawers until next fall.
But what do I wear instead? How about house dresses like my grandmother did! The only difference is, I want dresses that I can easily pair with sneakers or sandals when I have reasons to leave the house (and I sincerely hope I have more reasons to leave the house soon when this pandemic is finally over!). Here are a few dresses I’d like to add to my ‘elevated house dress collection.’
